School Visits with Eldritch Black
Bring the magic of spooky storytelling to your students! Eldritch Black offers lively, engaging author visits — in person and virtually — for classes from 3rd grade through middle school, with a sweet spot in 4th and 5th grade.
Whether you’re looking for a quick assembly or a full day of creative writing workshops, every visit is tailored to your school’s needs.
In-Person Visits
Complimentary Reading Visit (1 hour) — Whidbey Island
I offer free one-hour visits where I read from the Weirdbey Island series and take questions from your students. These visits work best when schools are able to arrange a book sale, giving students the chance to pick up signed copies at a special discount — but there’s no obligation and I understand that budgets vary. Just get in touch and we’ll figure something out.
Workshop Visits (Half-Day or Full-Day)
When I’m teaching – running creative writing exercises, monster-creation workshops, and extended Q&A sessions – these visits are charged. A half-day runs three hours and a full day runs six, and can include:
- School assembly with book readings and Q&A
- Up to five classroom creative writing workshops
- A popular monster-creation exercise using the five senses — a particular hit with 4th and 5th graders
- Book signing with discounted books for students, teachers, and parents
Off-island visits are warmly welcomed. Please contact me for travel details and fees.
Virtual Visits
Virtual visits are available for schools anywhere in the world — same energy, same spooky fun, delivered straight to your classroom screen. Pricing available on request; some virtual visits may be offered free of charge depending on circumstances.
Book Signings
Signed copies of all Weirdbey Island books are available at discounted prices for students, teachers, and parents during any school visit.
